If you’ve ever watched a client (or yourself) get stuck fighting their own thoughts and feelings, you already know why ACT exists. This workshop is a warm, practical introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a therapy that doesn’t ask people to think differently, but to relate differently to their thoughts, so life can move forward even when things feel hard.
We’ll dig into where ACT comes from and what makes it tick: the six core processes that make up the Hexaflex, the exercises and metaphors that bring them to life, and how values clarification actually differs from ordinary goal-setting. You’ll leave with a case conceptualization you can put to use with your own clients right away, plus an honest look at where ACT gets misapplied, what it asks of you as a therapist, and how to adapt it thoughtfully for the people you work with.
Come as you are, whether ACT is brand new to you or you’ve been circling around it for a while and want to finally understand how the pieces fit together.
