Are mental health disorders curable? Many treatment modalities present themselves as the tool for ‘curing’ mental disorders and focus on the full reduction of psychological symptoms. Consider the focus of measurement-based care on reduction of symptoms or self-reports of distress to assess the success of psychotherapy. While this view has been supported by successes with the application of psychotropic medication it is often not the story of those with lived experience. In this one-hour webinar, Dr. Carissa Muth will propose a holistic approach to treating mental health disorders that aligns with what research indicates is the experience of many of those suffering. This structured approach allows for the integration of a multitude of evidenced based interventions by integrating concepts from Positive Psychology and Neuroscience. Rather than merely working on helping clients return to a premorbid level of functioning, this holistic approach will provide attendees with a framework to increase resiliency, self-efficacy, and meaning in life.

Please note, this 1 hour session is an introduction to Dr. Carissa Muth’s 16 hour workshop in Kelowna, BC & Charlottetown, PEI this summer. Available in-person or online. More information here
